Purchased as a derelict ‘Chicken Shed’ with planning permission for two homes. Our brief was to convert the entire structure into one large family home. Initial ideas to fill the interior space with light led to a solution to ‘remove’ a portion of the floor space in the centre of the structure to create a large, glazed south facing courtyard. The space is divided into rooms either side of the courtyard and opens to a large open plan Kitchen, Living and Dining space. An oversized front door opens to a corridor view running the entire length of the building, through a large gable window to the rural landscape beyond. Carefully positioned windows offer ever changing views of the stunning Northumbrian countryside.

The building is full of unique features beautifully inspired by our Clients, from the polished concrete floor to the plywood ceilings, exposed steelwork and carefully crafted bespoke fittings and furniture.
