Designers and Architects

Established in 1910, MWE are a practice of RIBA Chartered Architects in Newcastle upon Tyne for over 100 years. Our portfolio consists of residential, workplaces, and retail, however our focus is on the residential sector; from domestic extensions, through to new build developments and working with national house builders on larger sites primarily in the north of England.

This has enabled the practice to develop a wealth of specialisations, particularly within Northumberland where there is often a requirement to work on historical and listed buildings within conservation areas. A full range of services can be on our services page.

Good design is at the core of our ethos. This, together with a focus on innovation, results in buildings which are highly aesthetical, functional and durable, as well as providing successful environmental and sustainable solutions. Project work, no matter what size or scale follows the same design process, which begins with a creative passion for design. This means following a collaborative journey with the client to understand the project requirements in conjunction with the development of sketch options using a range of visualisation techniques, from hand sketches to 3D modelling and walkthroughs. The design process culminates in the production of the detailed construction and tender information. Once work start on site, we are also available for contract administration services to ensure peace of mind during the construction phase.
