For many years MWE Architects have been working closely with the developer, Countylife Homes on many successful high quality residential developments in Northumberland.

The site is located on an elevated site to the west end of Newton Village comprising an infill site within the existing stone built village. The houses were carefully designed to sympathetically respond to the historical vernacular buildings in the village. Each residence is positioned to maximise the superb views over the Tyne valley and surround Northumbrian countryside.

The architectural design reflects the traditional Northumbrian vernacular of the village, using ashlar and random rubble stone with natural slate roofs, chimneys and timber windows. Although traditional marterials have been used externally, the buildings utilise a timber frame construction which offers a highly insulated and sustainable solution, combined with the most up to date building technologies conducive to modern living.
