Residential Development, North Hill, Dinnington
Situated on a former brownfield site in the heart of Dinnington, this project delivers five bespoke homes that respond to both urban edge and rural influences. In collaboration with Countylife Homes, we used a modern timber frame construction yet balanced the contemporary structure with traditional aesthetics, employing quality brick, render, and slate finishes to integrate the new homes respectfully into their context.
Each house is crafted to provide generous daylighting, clear connections to private garden spaces, and well-composed floorplans. We paid close attention to the transitions between public and private realms — using porches, subtle steps, and carefully detailed boundary elements to mediate interface and reinforce individual identity. Roofing profiles, façade proportions, and material junctions were calibrated to strike an architectural balance between modern comfort and local character.
Across the wider site, the layout is arranged to preserve sightlines and reinforce cohesion. Native planting, greenery buffers, and soft landscaping help embed the new buildings within the local setting. Parking and access have been discretely located to keep front facades uncluttered and prioritize visual amenity. The result is a cohesive development that blends contemporary living standards with a considered respect for place.
