New residential home, Potters Bank
New residential home, Potters Bank
Potters bank consists of the redevelopment of a site located in Durham. The Building was an opportunity to utilise a timber framed construction by Trivselhus which is a Swedish sustainable form of construction combined with eco-friendly technologies to reduce energy consumption and deliver lifetime savings in energy costs.
The external appearance was designed to provide a contemporary building which would also be conducive to the existing 19070s development in the vicinity of the site. Accordingly, elements of the building mass are juxtaposed and accented by use of key materials; zinc cladding and render. Materials are given a contemporary expression with the addition of gun-grey aluminium windows, metallic-grey standing seam roof, self-coloured aluminium rainwater goods and glass with stainless steel balustrade to the roof terrace, all of which offer the scheme a modern appeal.
