The esplanade consisted of the demolition of a dilipidated building; the Allesta Ballroom into 14No. apartments and townhouses with undercroft parking.

The design was an exciting opportunity to provide a contemporary building on a prominent location along the promenade in Whitley bay. The form of the building, and materials were carefully selected to offer a fresh modern appeal which will also reflect the art deco styling of some of the remaining buildings along the area, in particular the Spanish City regeneration.

MWE Architects were involved in the design and planning of the building, however the technical design and construction was carried out separately.
